APPLICANTS WANTED
The Washoe County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for the
following:
Airport Noise Advisory Panel - Receives and assesses information on airport
noise problems; assists in coordination between land use activities and airport
activities; promotes greater communication regarding airport noise among the
various public bodies, agencies and commissions; and, makes advisory
recommendations to the Airport Authority Board of Trustees regarding new and
existing programs and approaches to noise abatement. Quarterly meetings; no

Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority - Meetings held monthly (preceded by a Caucus) with
opportunity for topic specific committee involvement. Board sets policy for the
Airport Authority which owns and operates the Reno/Tahoe International Airport
and the Reno Stead Airport. Individuals applying may not hold any elective
office, have any financial interest in the aviation industry or have a financial
interest in any contract or other transaction with the board or the authority
other than as that contract or transaction may be made available to a member of
the general public in the course of the Authority’s business. Compensation $560

Board of Equalization--Alternate Members - Meetings during February as necessary
to care for business of equalization of assessments presented to the board. Can
last 8-10 hours per day and can run approximately 20 full days during this time
period. Board determines valuation of any property assessed by the County
Assessor and may change and correct any valuation found to be incorrect (NRS
361.345). Persons applying should be sufficiently experienced in business
generally to be able to bring knowledge and sound judgment to the deliberations
of the board and have the ability to read and analyze detailed financial
statements. Should also be familiar with the Truckee Meadows infrastructure.
Compensation $100 per day and a Financial Disclosure Statement is required.
