Attention all CAB members and interested citizens on notify lists for copies of CAB meeting notices:
Attached is an updated flyer that, I hope, will eliminate some questions. The updated flyer includes the requirement that applicants must be residents of unincorporated Washoe County and live in one of Washoe County ’ s 13 planning areas. Selected volunteers will be appointed by the Washoe County Commission. The Citizen Committee will only be active for 2 or 3 months and will dissolve once the task at hand has been accomplished . You can mail your completed application directly to Washoe County Community Development, Post Office Box 11130, Reno, NV 89520-0027; bring it to the department at 1001 East Ninth Street, Building A, Room A-275; fax it to 328-6133; or email it to singley@washoecounty.us . Applications received will be sorted by Commission District and planning area and provided to the appropriate Commissioner . The Commissioners will select a number of applicants from each of their applicable district s and planning area s .
It is anticipated that staff from various departments/agencies will prepare the initial draft ordinances, which will then be submitted to the County Commission for their review, comment and direction. The draft ordinances wil l then be reviewed by the Citizen Committee members who will provide their input at several meetings as the draft ordinances are fine tuned. Once this task is completed, the draft ordinances will return to the County Commission for another review before being taken to the Citizen Advisory Boards ( CAB ) for their review and input . Following CAB review, the draft ordinances will begin the adoption process. The CAB review will provide an opportunity for CAB members and Washoe County citizens not on the Committee to provide their contribution s . Click here for the application (PDF File)
